Chest Tattoos

To show off your dedication towards the body art, chest tattoo had become a popular way among both the sexes. Chest provides the tattoo artist with a large canvas to display his art. Chest is the place of the body where you could express more of your feeling to the other people you are going to show off your tattoo.

Defining the chest tattoos

These are the tattoos that would most obviously be tattooed in the area between the abdomen and the neck that is chest. Intricate tattoos could be tattooed here with no limitation of space. It could easily be covered by clothing if you do not want the tattoo to be observed by everyone you meet. The Japanese art of tattooing that is horimono took advantage of this very same fact.

Cultural tattoos on the chest

In the America and some parts of Europe tattoos are more popular art. In Japan tattoos were famous within a Mafia group known as Yakuza. They would cover the whole body with the tattoo including the chest area. This art of tattooing is known a horimono. But in this form of tattooing a small portion on the breast bone was not tattooed. This would rather give the person to partially unbutton his shirt if he wants to do so without displaying the tattoo on his body.

The Maori civilization also used tattoo to show their ritual feelings. But mostly their tattoos were on the face and neck. Those neck tattoos were sometimes extended to the chest to have a good image.

Female with chest tattoos

It is difficult for women to have chest tattoos. Because of their breasts they have a smaller canvas for the tattoo artist. Women could not have large images like sailing ships or a religious image on their chest due to limitation of space. Indeed breast tattoo are more common in women. One could see a small image on the cleavage of a woman. Women having tattoos on their chest could be a sensation for their partner. Women could have a relatively private image on this portion of their body.

Male with chest tattoos

Men probably choose this portion of their body because it is very large in size. They could show a larger image here. A most common image that you would see on a man’s chest is the sailing ship image. This is typically larger images and thus requires a larger part of body to be displayed.

Other popular chests tattoos are a heart, or a portrait, or some kind of lettering. Lettering could be in any font.
