Barrel Curls

One of the simplest sets is achieved by curling the hair around the fingers and then pinning the curl in place. Barrel curls create a soft set.

  1. Shampoo and condition your hair; apply setting lotion and comb through from the roots to the ends. Take a small section of hair (about 25 mm/1 in) and smooth it upwards.
  2. Loop the hair into a large curl.
  3. Clip in place.
  4. Continue to curl the rest of the hair in the same way.
  5. Dry the hair with a hood dryer or allow it to dry naturally. Remove the clips. To achieve a tousled look rake your fingers through your hair. For a smoother finish use a hair brush.

You will need :-

  • setting lotion
  • styling comb
  • clips
  • hood dryer (optional)
